Experience we have within the team:

The team have post graduate training and experience in Ayres Sensory Integration, Sensory Attachment Intervention Lvl 1, DMM Attachment Mode, Kelly Mahler’s Interoception programme, DIR Floortime, Therapeutic Listening programme, Quickshifts, Infant Sense Integration, Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP).

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with training in similar areas and/or who can diversify the skills of the team to offer new opportunities to our families.

A typical working week:
  • Working days and hours negotiable to achieve a good work-life balance. We are open between 8.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
  • Formal supervision every fortnight and informal supervision throughout the week from the whole team.
  • Team Meetings – The team meets once per week to work on projects to develop new ideas and services for the families. Additional project time will be allocated to progress ideas and all therapists are involved in service development.
  • A mix of one to one sessions, paired sessions, groups, school observations, review meetings, parent workshops, joint sessions with SLT’s and physiotherapists, OT programmes, sensory diets, assessments and report and parent coaching calls. There may also be opportunity to be based in one of the schools that we support providing integrated therapy provision.

About you (the successful candidate)

You will demonstrate a passion for working with children and families to help them to live their life in the way that they want to live it.

You will be ready to take on a leading role in projects that is already underway on our (Giant!) ideas blackboard in the staffroom or bring a new project idea to the table. Projects ideas include setting up an early years drop in, setting up an afterschool group, an in-reach project to a local school or nursery.

You will provide individualised therapeutic support that is grounded in evidence to respectfully and collaboratively enable children and families to achieve their goals.

You will share our belief that parents and guardians are the best experts of their children and that all the children we see are wonderful amazing children with strengths that need to be celebrated.

You will keep up to date with the evidence base, support the development of more junior staff taking on supervisory roles where appropriate, offer new ideas to develop the service and support in the presentation of school training and parent workshops.

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Sensory Integration Training with a recognised provider (SIE or CLASI)
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
  • Driver
  • Valid Enhanced DBS
