Assessments of Attachment, Developmental Trauma and Sensory Integration

Live & Love it offers two packages dependant on the level of sensory and emotional needs identified at the point of referral.

Initial referrals can be made by parents/guardians, social workers or other professionals.

Package 1: Multidisciplinary Assessment
Carried out in Collaboration with Amanda Fletcher of Thinking Families. 

Age Band: Children aged 2-16 years
Funding source: Private or Adoption Support Fund
Therapists: Occupational Therapist (with Sensory Integration and Sensory Attachment Intervention training) and a Child, Adolescent and Family Psychotherapist.

Assessment Outline:

  • Analysis of Attachment and Trauma behaviours impacting the regulation of arousal states, emotional organisation and engagement with others;
  • Analysis of Sensory Integration in relation to attachment behaviours;
  • Exploration of how the child experiences himself and others within his/her emotional world. The psychotherapeutic aspects of the assessment aim to shine a spotlight on the core of the child’s difficulties by exploring the complex and unique mosaic of the child’s developmental picture;
  • Liaison between the professionals involved to prepare a comprehensive report detailing the assessment findings and recommendations;
  • Multidisciplinary parent/guardian meeting to be attended by the assessing therapists, the family and the social worker.

Package 2: Multifaceted Assessment of Attachment, Trauma and Sensory Integration

Pre School / Nursery Age Assessments

Assessments for children aged 2-4 years of age who have not yet started school can take place either at our Occupational Therapy studio or at your child’s Pre-School / Nursery.
