Group or Paired OT Sessions

Group or Paired Occupational Therapy Sessions

Occupational Therapy group sessions for small groups or pairs of children who have shared goals they would like to work on.

During our child ambassadors meetings, the children identified that they would like to attend therapy sessions with children who “find the same things tricky” as them and that they would be able to help each other. Live & Love it are therefore working to expand our group and paired sessions.

Some groups run as weekly after schools clubs, others as summer clubs and some can be offered as paired sessions in your usual therapy slot with another child joining for the period of time suitable for the content.

Clothes Feel Yuck

When: TBC

Where: At the studio

Sign up: Contact us via the website or speak with your child’s therapist

This group is suitable for children who dislike the feel of clothing and would like to explore the options for sensory-friendly clothing as well as experiment with activities that can help their bodies to feel ready and comfortable before getting dressed in the morning.

To attend the group, the child MUST have clothes that they have SELF-CHOSEN that they want to be able to wear – it must be a self-identified goal that is important to them.

In this group, your child will engage in a series of fun body experiments to attune to and put language to their internal body signals. They will consider what different combinations of body ‘clues’ tell them about how they are feeling and begin to explore feel-good strategies that can help them restore comfort when needed.

Following this group children could move onto the Regulation Toolkit group where they would further develop their self-regulation skills and what works for them!
