Welcome to our space
Live & Love it is an extension of Ashleigh and Stewarts home to which they wish for everyone to feel comfortable and welcome.
The Live & Love it team are guided by our principles developed over years of exploring what is most important to children and families in their therapy journey. Our principles are challenged and enhanced as new perspectives are shared and actively explored.
Our Guiding Principles
- All therapeutic support is individualised based on meaningful and important aspirations held by the child and family.
- We presume that people (children, families and professionals) are doing the best that they can with the skills, tools and environment that they currently have.
- We collaborate and problem solve with, not against the support network.
- We are curious and open minded considering information both during our initial assessment and as part of our dynamic and ongoing assessment.
- We presume competence; believing that with the right support in all three domains (person, environment, occupation) new steps in development are possible.
- We facilitate steps of development and not specific ages or stages; these steps may take many different routes and progress is not always linear.
- We are neurodiversity affirming.
- We use both ‘top down’ and ‘bottom up’ therapy approaches. Top down approaches specifically target the occupation (activity) that is challenging. Bottom up approaches work on underlying skills eg. motor skills.
- Where we identify a gap in services, we strive to develop new tools and approaches to meet these needs.
- We are both playful and nurturing in our interactions.

Person Environment Occupation Model
We use the PEO model to guide our practice.
The model depicts how the three domains overlap and impact upon one another. The greater harmony between the Person, Environment and Occupation, the better the occupational performance.
Support is most effective when therapy addresses all domains to support a child and family in reaching their goals.
