Neurodiversity affirming play space with access to therapeutic support from our team

Occupational Therapist led Play Dates.

Session aims:

  • To offer a neurodiversity affirming, child and adult friendly space; all types of play are welcome and encouraged here! 
  • Meet other families, support each other, relax in our studio, and explore play opportunities. 
  • To answer questions relating to paediatric OT. Questions can be related to the child attending the play session or your other child(ren). If you would prefer to email us your question ahead of the session and for one of the team to approach you on the day to answer please email hello@live-loveit.co.uk.

 

Session Outline

  • Sessions last 1.5 hours.
  • Arrive at any time during the session time, ring the doorbell when you arrive and one of the team will let you in and show you to the play rooms.
  • We will have a minimum of 2 adjoining rooms (usually 3); one gross motor room with colourful play equipment and one quieter, low arousal space that children can freely move between.
  • During the last 10 minutes, the therapy team will dim the lights, lower the music levels and begin to tidy away toys to signify to children that the session is coming to an end. Let the team know if there is anything specific that will aid your child’s transition.
 

Everyone is welcome; you do not need to already attend Live & Love it, nor does your child need to have seen an OT.

Attending a Play Date

Booking 

Please book via Eventbrite using the links below. If you cannot see a date and time for your child’s age please email us and we will add you to our mailing list for updates on future events.

Cost

Sessions cost £8 plus the booking fee.

Accessibility

We have ramped access to our downstairs therapy room. There is 1 step and a threshold to come in the main front door. Stairs are the access to upstairs therapy rooms. The visitor toilets comprise 2 standard sized toilet cubicles and a sink area. There is a baby changing mat. We have a baby gate across the stairs for the duration of the session.

Travelling to us

We are accessible by car only. Parking is immediately outside the front door.

Group & Paired OT sessions

Group and paired sessions are an opportunity for children to work on shared goals. Our child ambassadors requested that they attend sessions with children who “find the same things tricky as them” so that they could learn together and share ideas.
